Spring Adventures

안녕하세요!!

Herro from Jeju Island! My apologies for not posting more frequently. I believe that I have entered into a routine the past few months which is perhaps good and bad. I will go through and interesting and hopefully short period of reverse culture shock upon my return to America! Lets hope I don't bow too much, remember to tip, try not to push or cut lines, speak better English, and remember how to drive! haha!

I told myself that I wouldn't miss American food when I left for Korea and well...10 months in...bring me doritos, Chipotle, and real pizza!!!! hahaha!!

This past spring (of there lack of in Korea) has been full of plenty adventures. Korea is known to have a distinct HOT summer and COLD winter. Recently as of mid May it has been quite odd. Some days I wear shorts and shirt while other days I must wear a jacket.  I have traveled around the Island to Hyeopjae beach, Udo Island, Daegu, and Hamdeok beach recently. I will travel to Seoul twice, Taiwan, Japan, booze cruise, and mud festival this summer!

Teaching is going well. I enjoy teaching with a Korean co-teacher this term and my students are higher level. My middle school students (mostly boys) are polite and try their best. I have recently opted out of the school lunch and bring my own instead (usually salad). While I have enjoyed the school lunches I have come to the conclusion that I'm consuming far too much rice and salt!

I have become more busy since I began doing some extra writing and teaching online to students in China. I found that I actually really enjoy teaching students online through a company based in Beijing. It's amazing to me that a 5 or 6 year old child is able to speak some English with me over a video program!
